Founded in 2019, CoHousing Budapest is an association committed to promoting and implementing community-driven housing solutions. With a diverse team of professionals, families, and individuals, it shares a common vision: fostering sustainable and cooperative living in Hungary.

Cohousing is a collaborative way of living where residents actively shape their environment, sharing spaces, resources, and responsibilities based on mutual goals. It strengthens communities while maintaining a balance between privacy and collective well-being.

Volunteer’s tasks?

Join us as a volunteer and be part of our daily activities! We welcome your personal initiatives and will support your ideas. As a volunteer, you can:

1. Co-housing supporter volunteer!
Volunteer’s tasks:
The volunteers will join and support our daily activities as an organization, and in case they have personal initiatives, we will support their ideas.
More concretely, this volunteer will support the association in everyday tasks such as:

  • Event organization, supporter for the co-housing community: they will help the communication between the association and the co-living guests, support the flow of news and general information;
  • Support activity realization: when there are events, the volunteer is called to give suggestions, use their creativity, support the communication with local/international guests, help with the preparation and physical organization and management of spaces, support the organizational activities, like picnics, organize tours, support meetings;
  • Organizational support, general support;
  • Research on good practices, photos, and related materials on co-housing to support the production of our books;
  • Support the creation of posts on social media,
  • Write articles and support the volunteer A2 in the content creation;
  • Support everyday activities with visual documentation, like gardening, painting furniture, cooking etc.;

2. Co-housing content developer volunteer!
Volunteer’s tasks:

  • Support activity realization and everyday activities, with visual documentation, like gardening, painting furniture, cooking
    etc.
  • Documentation- video, photo, editing
  • Support communication, blog writing, article writing
  • Social media support, poster creation
  • Research support- doing interviews with locals, doing online research etc.
  • English webpage, video translating, cutting
  • Documentation supporter- writing articles, translating content, creating interviews, supporting social media communication (contributing to FB, webpage, Instagram, maybe creating LinkedIn)
  • Support the research work
  • Support everyday activities with visual documentation, like gardening, painting furniture, cooking etc.;

Volunteer's conditions:

Accommodation

The accommodation costs are covered. Volunteers will live in modern, Downtown apartments, but shared flat and shared rooms.

Allowance

Each month volunteer’s receive a total of 120 000 Ft for pocket, travel and food money.

International transport

The transportation from home to Hungary and back will be covered according to the distance calculator of Erasmus+ program.

Insurance

The volunteer will have Henner Health insurance

Language support

The volunteer will have access to the Online Language Support to learn Hungarian.

Volunteer’s training cycle

The volunteer will have on-arrival and mid-term training provided by the Hungarian National Agency.

General support

Support before, during, after the activities
Evaluation meetings
Mentor and supervisors’ support
Extra certificates if they participate in specific activities (which will report the specific learning outcomes) or recommendation letters if they need one

The selection process is based not mainly on your experiences but your motivation and your personality.
